ACS ABV440: the numbered Albino Bluey Vuitton selection

01What ACS ABV440 is

ABV is the library's established shorthand for Albino Bluey Vuitton, the unpigmented form of the Bluey Vuitton line. 440 is the selection number, the convention breeders use to tell one worked phenotype from another when several come out of the same population. ACS is the group that did the isolation. Put together: the A.C.S selection numbered 440, taken from Albino Bluey Vuitton.

02Lineage and history

Bluey Vuitton is the pigmented parent, and its history is documented further back than most. The library's own record puts its start around 2014 and credits the original work to the breeder Silly Cybin, describing it as a hybrid of Panama x Melmac Penis Envy. That parentage puts a Penis Envy line on one side, which is why so much of the family behaves the way it does.

Albino Bluey Vuitton is the albino isolate taken from it. From there, A.C.S worked the line further and numbered their selections, of which 440 is the one the library carries. Alongside it the library also lists the broader Albino Bluey Vuitton (ACS iso), so you can compare the numbered selection against the line it came out of.

03Under the microscope

ABV440 is an albino line, so expect the same subellipsoid, thick-walled cubensis spore with a germ pore, carrying almost no pigment. A print from it runs pale grey rather than purple-brown, which is the fastest test of whether a line described as albino really is albino rather than leucistic. Because the Penis Envy side of the family prints thinly, expect a sparse drop. Lower the light, close the diaphragm partway, and the walls resolve cleanly. Next to the pigmented Bluey Vuitton on an adjacent slide, ABV440 is the clearest demonstration in this chapter of what removing pigment does to a spore.
