01What Galaxy Ape is

Galaxy Ape is an isolated Psilocybe cubensis line from the Albino Penis Envy family, catalogued as rare and carrying the ISO tag. It is currently between batches.

02Lineage and history

The listing tells the story plainly. The isolation is the work of a cultivator known as myceguy, who does not sell this genetic and only ever gives it away. MycoWorld obtained it because somebody who had won the genetics in one of those giveaways gifted it on. The listing also records myceguy's own view of the line: that it is an anomaly, meaning an expression that turned up outside what the line would normally produce.

That is an unusual chain of custody to have written down, and it is the reason the card is flagged as rare rather than simply priced high. It also means supply depends on prints taken from a line nobody is producing commercially.

On the genetics, Galaxy Ape sits in the APE family, the most used parent group in modern cubensis breeding. The background is in Penis Envy and Albino Penis Envy.

03Under the microscope

Treat it as an albino APE slide. Unpigmented spores in the ordinary subellipsoid, thick-walled cubensis form with a germ pore, a pale print, and a thin deposit because the Penis Envy family drops sparsely. Lower the lamp, close the condenser diaphragm partway, and the walls resolve.

If you are lucky enough to get a syringe, take a slide in the first week and record the size range, the wall, the germ pore and the print colour against the LOT. For a line this scarce, a careful record is worth as much as the specimen.
