01What Hellmonkey is

Hellmonkey is an isolated Psilocybe cubensis line catalogued as Hellmonkey (Hellhound x SpaceMonkey), with the original cross credited to Maniacal Mycology. It is part of the A.C.S collection the library carries through Mushrealm, and the listing says so explicitly so that buyers can tell A.C.S work from everything else.

02Lineage and history

The name is the pedigree: Hellhound crossed with Spacemonkey. Both parents are American hobby-bred cubensis lines, and as with most lines that spread by trade rather than publication, their own parentage is not formally documented. The library records what is on the card and no more.

What is documented is the chain of custody: Maniacal Mycology made the cross, A.C.S worked and isolated it, Mushrealm carries the collection, and MycoWorld prepares the syringes in the UK. 03Under the microscope

Hellmonkey is a pigmented cubensis, so the slide is a standard one: subellipsoid, thick-walled spores in the 11 to 17 micrometre range, a clear germ pore at 1000x, purple-brown in mass, and a dense print. Our cubensis spore morphology guide is the reference description.

Because it carries the ISO tag it should measure tightly, and because it is a cross of two named lines it is a good candidate for a three-slide study if you can source either parent: parent, parent, offspring, same objective, same light, twenty spores each.
